Fleeting Jobs, Lasting Rights: Rising for Recognition with Pride

In the rhythm of a modern age,

Where screens and clicks define the stage,

But with each click, a battle’s fought,

For recognition, for what they sought.

Task by task, their hopes unfold,

But beneath it all, their rights are sold.

No 9 to 5, no steady pay,

Just endless hours, day after day.

No health, no safety, no pension plan,

Just a nameless worker, a forgotten man.

The platforms grow, the earnings shrink,

In a world where fairness starts to sink.

“You are your own boss,” they proudly decree,

But the chains of precarity, we clearly see.

The gig, a dance on a fragile thread,

Where dreams of stability often shed.

For beyond the gig lies a greater goal,

The dignity of every worker’s soul.

No longer shadows, no longer dim,

Every gig worker deserves their win.

The answer lies in laws reformed,

Where gig workers' rights are fully adorned.

Fair wages, benefits, and security warmed,

A place where justice isn’t deformed.

Keywords: Gig Worker’s Rights, Empowerment, Justice, Reformation.

The GNLU Legal Services Committee has been set up in the year 2007 by way of Section 4(k) of the Legal Service Authorities Act, 1987 which reads as "Develop, in consultation with the Bar Council of India, programs for clinical legal education and promote guidance and supervise the establishment and working of legal services clinics in universities, law colleges and other institutions". The Legal Aid Cell (or committee, as is the practice now), established under statutory law provides assistance through a variety of methods, including traditional casework, summary advice, self-help, community legal education, community development and policy reform initiatives.
